Alan J thanks for posting this thread, I was having the exact same problem and could not understand why selecting the Roland performance on my Kronos would result in the fantom XR being muted. I had noticed if I manually changed the program in the combi so the program change for the fantom on ...

The 88X and 76X and numerous 61X and 61 models for sale - NZ

New Zealands local version of ebay is called trademe - and at the moment there are a lot of Kronos models for sale on there, mostly from distributors. Made me think that a new workstation was on the way - so thought I'd look here and see if there was any discussion about it. Just Google trademe and ...

try the Fantom X7 if you want a good second board

I traded my Oasys 76 for a Kronos 61 but kept my Fantom X7 as the second board, because it is light, loads samples easy, keeps lyrics and reminders on screen, has some decent sounds, a computer editor, and the keys are a neutral synth type with aftertouch but not budget ones I have since got a ...

Would you buy it again -

I sold my Oasys 76 several months ago and got a Kronos 61, and I have noticed that I actually miss the Oasys, and am considering rebuying it back.

Its a sign of how good something is when you want it back I reckon.

Its the devil - isnt it.

Keen to know if the samsung 840 is a goer in the kronos

I'm contemplating putting a samsung in too - they are available here so if the sata 3 thing is ok - then I think thats what I will do too. The SATA 2 discs seem a little harder to find.

These are a fantastic board eh. - neighbors jsut asked me to turn it down, I'm barely warmed up.

Thanks for the tip - but it was the old ten devices limit in windows midi that was the problem. Even thought the korg usb driver (1.1.4r3) was installed correctly and reporting itself in device manager as working correctly and it knew that there was a kronos on the end of the usb, it would not work ...

Kronos editor does not see korg midi usb

I have recently acquired a korg Kronos 61 and am pretty thrilled at all it can do. As a previous oasys owner the idea of a kronos editor is a pretty nice thing. I have installed the editor and korg usb midi driver (latest ones I could find) on my computer - Win 7, 64 bit soundslate pro. The midi ...

All good thanks guys - the fan issue isn't as much of a deal to me - I can't hear a lot of fans live -

There's obviously the X factor to contend with now, so I will see what these price out at. User sample streaming sounds awesome. I have a massive set of samples to put in.

Is it reasonable to expect that a Korg Kronos is fit now?

I'm an ex-oasys owner that is considering buying a kronos 73/ 88. I've read a few posts that made me think I should wait a bit until the keybed and OS upgrades were ironed out - I play live so reliability is a must for me. I had a bad experience with the oasys 76 that meant it was 9 months getting ...

Hey Jahrome, Just wanted to say that my oasys 76 died a couple of years ago - not long after I bought it - it was a motherboard issue, the parts to repair came from Japan, and I got it back after six months. I live in New Zealand though so things can take a while here - the biggest problem was ...

Oh and I meant to say - these problems are'nt confined to one manufacturer, or just modern keys - the older ones had problems too. I had cold solder issues on the output jacks of several M1's one within a week of it coming home from the dealer in Auckland, my Fantom X7 had to have a component ...

I'm a Kiwi and I've just tried out the SV-1 and the Kronos 61 in my local shop - actually went there with the view of getting the Kronos. The SV-1 had the fault it was obvious on the first run of soft triplets I played. The Kronos was the 61 note version and it was fine. I have a 76 note oasys and ...

Any suggestions for adding an M3 module to my rig

Team, I'm a gigging keyboard player, I play rock and jazz and current setup is a fantom X7 and a triton studio 76. Theres a guy selling a korg m3 61 locally for not much and I was wondering would I get much extra by getting that and taking the M3 module with me. Does anyone know if the M3 module ...

Hi - I use a TS 76 and FantomX7 on stage a lot. The roland has balanced outs while the korg does not, even my oasys does not!! The TS does not hum though - a bit of a whirr if the hard drive is loading up samples but nothing major. I think the TS is a fantastic gigging board - just wish it was a bit ...

Any tips for migrating to the big O ?

Finally going to upgrade from my triton studio 76 to a oasys 76. I will mostly use this live with my fantom X7, in a covers band doing everything from Van Halen to Rammstein. I have some specific stuff which I will either sample or reprogram - Prodigy's "breathe" and Rammsteins "feuer frei" from the ...
