Is there a market for 2nd hand Oasys boards?
I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth putting my Oasys (88 note, pristine condition) up for sale on ebay. Anyone know what kind of price to expect for these?
KronosX, Eigenharp Alpha, Roland AX-1, Roland A800Pro (4), RME UCX (2), MaxMSP, soft synths from Native Instruments, AAS, Arturia, G-Force, RealLabs, Korg Legacy and others
I'll let you know! My O-88 is on eBay at the moment. 15 watchers after a week but no offers. Largely it is logical to say that the Kronos has killed the OASYS residual value (a fine parting gift from Korg). But, the O is still mighty and doesn't have certain keybed problems...
In case you're wondering - I don't want to sell it! But needs must.
Auction ends tomorrow (Monday 25th) so will see what happens then.

As it happens, it didn't sell. 17 watchers at the end but no bids. Suspect they were all just interested to see what I'd get (if anything) - I've done the same myself, watching items just for info/education.
So now need to decide about next steps...

Back around November 2012 I saw an O-76 on sale at a local Sam Ash store for $2999.00. I was even tempted but it had a cracked key and looked a bit worn. I don't know how long it was there but at least 3 months any maybe it's still there as I haven't been at that particular location lately. Putting it on display next to a Kronos probably didn't help in making a quick sale.

I must admit then when I play all my keyboards, it really is annoying when I change a sound on the Oasys and everything switches off instantly before allowing the next sound to initiate...with the Kronos I simply make smooth transitions from one sound to the next. When your holding full chords and want to change the sound you need smooth transitions.
Anyway, all the best Cello.

You probably find those 17 watchers all had Oasys and were just watching to see how much yours went for.cello wrote:Thanks for the good wishes DennyC!

But they are brilliant pieces of kit so don't worry to much.

That's what I reckoned too. It's been re-listed at lower price but only 8 watchers this time! Yes, the O is a wonderful bit of kit - best Korg has madelotty1 wrote:You probably find those 17 watchers all had Oasys and were just watching to see how much yours went for.cello wrote:Thanks for the good wishes DennyC!

Thanks Akos my friend. Maybe it's not meant that I sell it... Here's hoping!! But I must try nevertheless.Akos Janca wrote:It's sad to see to your decision, Neil. I think OASYS is a really great tool but *you* are the most important in your music. I hope you can solve your problem soon.
All the best,

Hope all is good with you and the family - best wishes to you all.

Hear what you're saying billysynth1 - I appreciate and understand that the Kronos is technically better. But for me SST means nothing as I don't gig and I multi-track (no DAWs involved - simply the D3200) so have absolutely no need for such stuff whatsoever. To each their own!!billysynth1 wrote:I must admit then when I play all my keyboards, it really is annoying when I change a sound on the Oasys and everything switches off instantly before allowing the next sound to initiate...with the Kronos I simply make smooth transitions from one sound to the next. I was back at that Sam Ash location and that same O-76 is still there and still listed for $2999. They have since moved it to the back row near the corner. But close by was a Kronos 61 for $2200. With deals like this popping up it's going to be a hard sell for a used Oasys at that price.Bald Eagle wrote:Back around November 2012 I saw an O-76 on sale at a local Sam Ash store for $2999.00. Would you buy it again -
I sold my Oasys 76 several months ago and got a Kronos 61, and I have noticed that I actually miss the Oasys, and am considering rebuying it back.
Its a sign of how good something is when you want it back I reckon.
Its the devil - isnt it.
