Any suggestions for adding an M3 module to my rig

Post by kyoland »

Team,

I'm a gigging keyboard player, I play rock and jazz and current setup is a fantom X7 and a triton studio 76. Theres a guy selling a korg m3 61 locally for not much and I was wondering would I get much extra by getting that and taking the M3 module with me.

Does anyone know if the M3 module will sit ok on the triton studio? Its on the lower tier of an ultimate stand and its pretty stable does'nt bounce around much. I have the X7 on the top as I use it to display lyrics and chord changes and reminders about where I've stored samples on screen.

I like the idea of an M3 as its probably easier to program from a computer than the triton studio, I just find the computer editors so much faster for programming. Also the radias board intrigues me as the Z1 board in the triton makes it twice the keyboard, and I suspect the radias is also a great VA.

So what do you reckon - is it worth getting a M3, would you do it again if you had the option? Are the modules pretty robust ? Are the sounds a big step up from the studio?

I want to keep the studio as I've got a heap of programming hours invested in it, I love the Z1 sound and they've never worth much when you sell them.
Just play it
