The only thing I can think of, is a problem with the USB stick itself. Sandisk is known to have incompatibility issues with the M3. Try to use another (non U3) USB stick.

I know for sure the drivers work in XP x64. Vista 64 I don't know. I use x64 which works nearly flawless with the exb-FW.

Maybe it's not timing info, as in the global page, under the Synch section, I choose "internal", so maybe it's not transmitting any time code or midi synch messages... But ...

It's a combination of looking in the Global Mode on the Editor, and the first page, Software Setup to tell it to auto-load a file, and then a command found in the Utility Menu of the Editor to set which file it will auto-load.
