3D Modelling the M3-M

Post by Sharp »

Hi all.

Some of you might find this interesting.
I've started building an exact replica of the M3-M as a 3D model, and this where I'm at so far.

Image

I hope to get the other side of the M3 modelled during the week, and then I can start adding all the textures and stuff.

Regards.
Sharp.

Nice! build the keyboard assembly also. Did you use Maya for that?

Heres a motif ES7 modelled in Maya. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b150/ ... ifES21.jpg

That Motif looks sweet. Lots of details.

I don't know if I can get the M3 Keyboard Assembly modelled though. I only have the M3-M so I don't have anything I can take measurements off of.

Don't know if you saw this one, but here's a concept design for an OASYS Rack I modelled.

:-) If you like modelling, you should get yourself Blender to start with.

Hey Sharp,

It would be kinda nice if your 3D model could be incorporated with the virtual M3 interface that Stephen Kay wrote, and which is now downloadable from Korg's web site.

The animated interface is great but the button positions are not where they appear on the actual M3 product.

Best regards,
Rob

An Oasys rack would have been so cool. but I think it will never happen.

Hi Rob.

Yeah that would be very cool indeed, but I'd imagine it would be harder to navigate as the full scale image would likely be 3ft wide.
Would be really cool though.

Who said anything about full size? You could have a two window solution, one scale for the M3-M with static screen but active buttons and keys, and another scale for the screen contents.

Rob

Hi Rob.

Sure, I'll give it a go when I'm finished modelling then.
With that said, I've completed the other side now.

So that completes the front panel as far as modelling goes. I still have to model the connections on the back, and then I can start putting textures on the entire thing.

Sharp.

Hi all.

Finished the back now, so all that's felt now for the Module textures.

Anyone willing to help out by supplying some images of the keyboard assembly ?.
