If your trying to get the audio just like it was in the Atari, you might be better just sampling the track/patterns from the program running in the emulator directly into the EMX, rather than try to get the midi formats to work and then re-create similar type sounds?

Power does reach the machine, the onboard fuse just protects the synth processors, but the back-light is connected to power input seperate. You can solder fuse wire to each end, or melt the solder and remove the fuse. If you havent done soldering before, i would print out the tutorial (or the ...

You might have trouble getting someone to open there machine but for what its worth here is my input: C39 looks like it is a ceramic surface mount capacitor like C9 in the picture. look at the "1206 Ceramic range". Do not know what value though, but it looks like its in the power section so it will ...

Everything you described is the exact symptoms of the on-board fuse blowing. Backlight on, no screen etc. A few people have come on previously and have been told that "this is not the problem" by Korg, when it is the problem, maybe because they want you to fork out to send the machine for repair ...

The mainboard fuse has blown, its a very small surface mounted fuse on the mainboard of the tribe, look at this thread: http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=26063 or this picture, which is a lot clearer to see the fuse and assembly: http://pulprecords.free.fr/fusible.jpg you can ...

you can replace it with fast burning fuse wire of higher rating.
the surface mount fuses are really difficult to solder in because it is so small, chances are you will need more than one to attempt it if your not a dab hand with a soldering iron.

if you use the modulation section set the modulation type to single shot (thats the bottom one, that is liek a slope), then set the depth to a negative value (maybe about half way) and then set the speed to what ever gentle attack you want. It kind of goes from a gentle attack to a really long fade ...

You have picked the wrong device is your after more acoustic sounding drums. It is a synthesizer, your not going to get rid of the 'electric' sound im afraid. You might want to get another drum machine that can use one shot samples and sequence it using the EMX instead.

The original surface mount fuses were underrated, hence the amount of machines that have the issue. there are people on here that have just jumped the fuse with a wire, or replaced it with a slightly higher rated fuse. the mainboard will not suddenly blow out because you have an over rated fuse in ...

Also check to see what sample rate your sound card is operating at, when i got my laptop it was running at a lower setting default which has a noticeable effect.
Are you using an actual line in or a mic input? mic inputs causes a lot of distortion because the pickup voltage is so low.

Try checking the volume of the part hasnt suddenly turned down. If it is the volume of the part then you may have a problem with the volume knob being damaged and 'jittering' around the zero mark. Also make sure modulation is off, as you may have some kind of odd modulation that is making the part ...

It doesnt matter what speakers you use providing they work off a normal headphone socket, like computer speakers, or headphones.
For the best sound though you should really be plugging it into an amplifier or stereo, smaller speakers dont produce much bass.

Well the tribes are known to have a fair bit of hiss, it annoys some people endlessly, but it doesnt bother me much, although it can be quite noticeable at certain times. Some guys who have upgraded there tubes have said it reduces hiss a lot, but I cant verify that so dont take my word for it ...

My question is simply ...Is that normal with this unit ? yes, when you turn the master volume up it amplifies the ambient hiss in the tubes. Most audio equipment does this, but its a bit more noticeable with the tribes due to the tubes, and especially if you wear headphones. Your box isnt faulty ...

I have used the tempo match feature extensively and I can tell you that it does not work the way you want it to. It does detect a very approximate BPM that will drift out within a few seconds, also it does not correct the sync of the beats, so even if it does scan a correct tempo, it will just ...
