Drum part goes silent?
Sorry for the noob post....
When playing with my esx, on occasion the drum or keyboard part I am editing goes silent, as if it was on mute. Try as I might, I cant get that part to become audible again.
I must be hitting something somewhere... any ideas??
Thx,
poly

Knob jitter can also cause this kind of behaviour. The parameter value jumps to the knob position rather than the program position.
For example if I have a kick drum on full volume, but the volume or decay knob was at zero when I switched to that sound, a slight electrical variation causes the parameter value to jump to the knob value, resulting in an inaudible sound.
Toggling the part mute does nothing because it isn't actually muted - its a sound parameter causing the volume drop.

Thanks for the replies, to be more specific:
I will be editing a a drum part (hiHat) on the first bar of a pattern and restarting the pattern again and again to hear just the first bar as I change it. At some point, that drum part (hiHat) will stop being heard. I can see the the lights are still on, I cannot hear it. If I press the drum part button (6A) I cannot hear the part either.
It may be that I accidentally hit the record button and recorded a mute?
It may also be the FX knobs, although I am sure I havent accidentally hit them.
Any advice on resting this behavior? As of now, when it happens, I must reset the pattern and might lose what I was working on.
Thanks!!

Try checking the volume of the part hasnt suddenly turned down. If it is the volume of the part then you may have a problem with the volume knob being damaged and 'jittering' around the zero mark.
Also make sure modulation is off, as you may have some kind of odd modulation that is making the part inaudible.

Thanks guys i'll play with it tonight and see if I can get it going, thanks for the suggestions. From the sound of it, the FX knob settings might be the problem.
Another related dumb question is:
If I have FX settings 1,2 and 3 applied to different parts and am using those parts in my pattern, how can I set the knobs back to a 'default position' without making edits to FX 1,2 or 3?
Thanks guys
