Re: Optical Cable Removal

It's just like the Kronos, and you're right. You just have to be careful since this is how I broke the door on my first Oasys. I thought there might be a trick or something to reduce the risk. I probably just pulled it sideways instead of straight out. Thanks for your reply I'm glad to have this ...

Optical Cable Removal

Silly question I should have learned the answer to years (decades) ago: With regard to removing an optical cable from a jack that has a door. Question: How to remove the cable without breaking the door? When you stop laughing, please someone educate me. I'm tired of wedging paper between the cable ...

EXB-DI Expansion

Greetings, fellow Oasysians! Does anyone know if the EXB-DI expansion for the Triton is the same as that for the Oasys? As far as I can discern, the Triton offered 6-Channels of ADAT Out while Oasys offered 8-Channels. I'm unclear if this is due to a difference in the hardware expansion or the ...

Bought mine somewhere around 2006/07. Had been sitting several years. Replaced the memory battery (Summer 2022) and all is well. This one has stood the test of time. :D

I’d be happy if someone made a decent hardware multitrack with MIDI at this stage…

Are dead batteries still in the instrument? Have they leaked? If they haven't then why not try fresh batteries? If they have leaked it is possible you can clean the contacts. You will have to take it apart to clean both ends of the battery compartment (I did this once, a trillion years ago), but it ...

Could your power adapter be bad? Have you tried to power it on with batteries?

Yes, very realistic indeed! I would like to hear the samples without reverb, and preferably both with and without accompaniment. Very exciting. After a long wait, my Kronos 2 is about to emerge into reality in my studio. Having previously owned an Oasys, I'm stoked on so many different levels.

Synthee, were your rack housings purchased separately? I'm seeing the "Z" as a basic desk and can't seem to find the rack housings that look like yours. It really is a beautiful desk and I think I'd like one.

Wow! Your desk is awesome. And the kronos 2 does not bounce at all when you play? I'm not ham fisted, but this is a concern as my Oasys used to bounce on my el cheapo desk to the point that I made make-shift legs for it (lol). A salesman is trying to steer me toward the Miza XL, but it looks like ...

Checked out the Jaspers Recording Station. Hadn't really thought about that style, but I'm giving it consideration. The more I look at the Omnirax offerings, the more I agree they are not especially well suited to a keyboard MIDI studio like mine. I wish I had the talent to build my own but ...

Studio Desk For Kronos 88

Anybody using an Omnirax Presto (not the Presto 4) for their Kronos 88? What are your thoughts? Can the bottom rack spaces be accessed without too much effort? What about the build? Anyone using a desk from any manufacturer that they love for the 88 note Kronos? There's one called the "Music ...

My first Workstation was an 01/Wfd purchased in 1993. For the next 12 years I composed using it's 16 track sequencer. Then came my Triton Extreme 88. 3 years on that one. Then Oasys, 6 years. Financial distress in 2014. Krome 88 until... now...financial recovery... getting ready to buy a Kronos 88 ...

I would not consider a Montage. I like Yamaha. Had an FX-20 organ back in the '80s, and still have an MU100. The Montage doesn't do it for me on any level. To each their own. My Virus TI Desktop complimented my Oasys like sweet whipped topping on ice cream (cookie dough!). Expecting the same with ...
