A new soundset from Sounds of Planet is coming soon.

Post by SoundsOfPlanet »

Hello Everybody

I would like to invite you to watch a short presentation of newest music pack with the sounds of saxophones for Korg Kronos. This sound pack includes 128 programs with multisamples.
So finally, many months of laborious efforts and work are almost finished and already in June 2018 this set will be available for sale in Korg’s online shop.

This would be great.

Sax programs are a weakness in Kronos. I consider them 'average ' and can only use a a few in my songs. Baritone is easy. altos are decent.

Tenor is almost useless. Even with different FX its almost useless.

The other main problem is convincing articulation. Getting growl and expression to work convincingly is not possible.

I will be very interested how you solved all this and provided very good sax programs for Kronos.

I hope you back off on the reverb and echo. Thats easy for a keyboardist to add and each song with sax has different requirements.

For a while now, one of the first sounds I try when testing a new keyboard is "Sax" - the demo above sounds amazing.

Cheers

Pete :D
(in contrast, I just bought the SoP "Ocean Pads" which is awesome...)

Thank you, GregC and Karmathanever for your comments. All your questions and doubts will be dispelled soon (I hope:-) .
All I can add now is, that the saxophones were sampled and recorded in identical way as I have made it for my accordion library https://shop.korg.com/Kronos/EXS-175
– that is at frequency of 48 KHz and 24 bit quality – played lived without any additional effects used on the input.

Yes, very realistic indeed! I would like to hear the samples without reverb, and preferably both with and without accompaniment. Very exciting. After a long wait, my Kronos 2 is about to emerge into reality in my studio. Having previously owned an Oasys, I'm stoked on so many different levels.

Fantastic, cannot wait to get those for my Kronos X, and the beauty of it is, I wont worry if by loading them, they overwrite the ones already there.

I am in constant contact with Korg – presently my programs are being processed and subjected to verification and final check – so I hope really soon the exact date of releasing this new sound set will be confirmed.
In the meantime, waiting for sound pack release day, I made a short demo – according to some of yours suggestions – with full instrumental backgrounds and in small fragments – also without the background band, to emphasize just the sound of leading instrument as such.
