Hey Korg we need a new fancy superworkstation keyboard!!! I've lost hope in Korg... they had all those years to issue stuff as great as the MS-20, or a new Electribe, and all they could do was the Monotribe and some apps... and workstation keyboards... About to sell my EMX to fund an Elektron A4 ...

What couldn't you do with Ableton? I had no problem to have it sync'd to the EMX, to have Ableton sequence the EMX while using the EMX as a MIDI controller all at the same time... I haven't measured latency but it sounded okay to me.

I'd like to give a huge +1 to the Octatrack: - superb MIDI sequencing with polyphony: got it. - live recording of velocity: not sure... but editing steps is really quick and easy - trigger MIDI and sample at the same time: can do. - auto-truncate sample: you can set a fixed recording length, and if ...

Your best move is to acquire a drum-machine or a an external synth module to expand your sound palette (you can use the EMX sequencer to control these).

Elektron makes awesome machines, but they are expensive.

Last gig was outdoor... but at night... they had this spotlight on the DJ booth to put some light on the machines, turntables, mixers, etc..
Naturally, first thing I do when it's time to play is turn away the spotlight as I can see the EMX LED

Sometimes I think Octatrack users just want to justiify the hundreds of dollars they spent on it :)
Did I tell you about my iPad?

That's the good thing about electronic music: there's no good or bad way to setup your rig, as long as it works for you and you are happy of the results.

If you have the money, invest in an Octatrack. It's simply out of this world in term of sample processing / sequencing / mangling / effecting / rearranging power, comes with a superfast workflow, designed with live-performance in mind and icing on the cake: it doubles as a MIDI sequencer that's ...

The Octatrack comes with a 4GB card which can store a few hours of sound, and connects to your PC over USB (it shows as an external flash-drive).
You can definitely play a 5 minutes track and mix-in your Electribe at the same time. You can even do some nice DJ-style transitions between your songs.

You need a sampler that can stream audio from it's flash memory (or hard drive, etc.).
The Elektron Octatrack does this extremely well (and you could use it as a mixer/sequencer/effect for your Electribes).

Lighted buttons not bright enough.

Help here.... I was playing a liveset this Saturday... not the first time playing outdoor, but that was my first time playing during the day. Even though: - it's winter so the sun is not the brightest - my rig was not directly exposed to sunlight The ambient light was too bright and I just could not ...

I'm not in front of the machine now... but as far as I understand how Mr. Chord works, it will generate a basic waveform, to which it will add sub-oscillators (just like the Additive synth). The difference between Additive and Chord is that Chord places the sub-oscillat ors at specific tuned ...

How about if you reverse L and R cable, will it only play the right channel?
Good idea to check the following:
- panning on the EMX
- panning on the amp
- try the EMX on another amp
- try another audio device with the amp
- try other cables

Good luck!
