Lighted buttons not bright enough.

Post by P-E »

Help here....

I was playing a liveset this Saturday... not the first time playing outdoor, but that was my first time playing during the day.

Even though:
- it's winter so the sun is not the brightest
- my rig was not directly exposed to sunlight

The ambient light was too bright and I just could not tell which tracks were playing and which one were muted on the EMX, which affected the flow of the performance (nothing critical, we all know that the audience doesn't notice when you mess up, but still, pretty annoying).

Has anyone else been into that problem and found a solution?
- any way to brighten up the buttons without having to replace the current limiting resistors of the LEDs?
- any mechanical solution such as button cover, etc. ?

And I had no problem with LCDs or LEDs on the EMX and other machines... only those backlight buttons gave me trouble...

I experience the same problem when playing during the daytime. Have to try and shade the buttons, but still can't tell which parts are active :?
