I was wondering if the EA1 has 2 synth parts and if it does can I use one through midi and another playing a pattern?

I thought it was a one off glitch but it's happened again. I goto load a sample to a drum part and the name of the sample displays, the sample number blinks and I can't hear anything when I hit the drum part or put some in the sequencer. I second that Ableton live is my DAW of choice.
You can download the demo or I think the Padcontrol comes with live lite.

What soundcard have you got? If it's onboard sound that might be causing you the problem.
You could try Asio4all that might fix it, it'll give you better latency.
Have a look at the settings in acid, I had to change mine in ableton because they weren't set to asio.

Well it shouldn't be the pad kontrol doing it because it doesn't make any sounds it's just a controller. I could be the driver, have you installed the latest one? While your at it you could try the latest soundcard drivers. Are you on a slow system? the usb might be drawing too much power and ...

I haven't actually looked at it yet because I've on;y just got my pad kontrol but I think there is a tutorial on youtube by a guy called stray411 who mentions it. I think he refers to using the arpeggiator plug in in ableton live. I'm not sure if he's done a full tutorial on it.

Ruso why don't you post some kind of guide to synching with Live it seems to be quite a common problem it could be a sticky.

Why don't you use the midi keyboard and the control surface to control live and the emx to do emx things? Sorry if I've totally missed the point of your post.
