I think it's because the MIDI send velocity, but I could be wrong. I sometimes hook up my MicroKorg to the EMX and when I play softly it sounds quite, so when I mash it, it plays the notes louder.

Yeah actually! I made a Dubsteppish style song the other day. Just used a constant looping 4 bar pattern, seen as I was just experimenting. A few friends of mine and myself did actually enjoy the track surprisingly! Used the KP3 to make some nice effects on it mind. Have you made anything yet?

Not 100% sure on this one, but MIDI to USB has been known not to work for many people, myself included. According to the manual it's because of the MK "Special" MIDI signals. Sorry but I think you've just wasted money like many of us :?

B.14/5/6 can't remember which, but it's used by The Killers in somebody told me. Also the Black Keys use a lot of presets. 8)

Try an EMX or ESX.
They're great for making beats.

What TrondC says. Can be annoying, but there is a way. First set up all the patterns you wanna play with in song mode then use record to set the Part Mute on and off for each pattern. This does mean playing from the start everytime, but at least you get to make it automatically change them. It's ...

MicroKorg as midicontroller in Garageband

Is it possible on a Macbook? From what I've experienced it's not... I bought a MK and a ESI MIDI-Mate which is MIDI to USB (ESI from Dolphin Music btw) and when I connect the MIDI I/O from the MIDI-Mate to the Korg and the MIDI-Mate USB to my Macbook, Garageband tells me I have 1 MIDI device ...
