The KP3 is much better match for the Kaossilator and EMX-1 because its best feature is the four track beat-matched sampler/looper, not just the effects. That gives you much more layers for a track than the simple looper in the Kaossilator that only allows one stored layer (or none in 16 beat mode), and the music always stops when you Fix or Clear the loop, while the KP3 keeps the music going as it automatically loops after sampling. The drum patterns also sound much punchier on the KP3 vs. the Kaossilator.

I ended up buying an EMX-1 from some dude in the states. he is in washington. Bought it for 220 quid including shipping. Not bad i think.
Thing is, he said he shipped it last monday, so ive beed waiting for it for 10 working days now. how long does it take?! He seems a nice guy so im not doubting he sent it. im itching to get my hands on it though. Also whats all this pish im hearing about 'port tax'? Any uk buyers care to fill me in?
by the way xmlguy, i decided against the mini KP, just gonna wait a bit to get the KP3 as i quite like the sampler/looping features it has, prob worth the coin.

After 28 days i finally got my hands on it.
Have to say its probably the worst piece of hardware ive ever used. Its difficult to use, sounds terrible and it looks like crap.
Only joking. ITS OUTSTANDING. havent been off it since i switched it on, except to come to work today. And even then im sitting here on Korg forums.
Its exactly what i was looking for. I got annoyed once or twice, but thats what happens. Stand-by for noob questions.....(after searching of course).....
