Creating synth sounds and songs on EMX1

Post by rckandorroll »

Hey all, I'm new here but I've been struggling with this for awhile now. I've looked everywhere for help but can't seem to find it. I noticed the synth sounds that are in the sample songs all sound so different from each other, but when i try to create synth sounds, i can barely stray away from the original sound in the blank patterns (that buzzing noise).

How do i create synth sounds because i've seen some peoples songs and their synths are crazy.

speaking of songs, when creating one, do you have to make the different parts of the song in different patterns and then join them together? wouldn't that take up a lot of patterns depending on song length. and what if you want to make more than one song? do you save one song onto a smartcard and then delete all the patterns and start over?

hope that made sense and sorry if theyre noobie questions, but i just got back from EDC and want to start expaning my electronic music knowledge...which is basically nothing.

thanks!

Yeah man,it's just practice and spending a lot of time learning the EMX and how it works. Try reading the "Synth Secrets" articles on the SoundonSound.com website for an understanding of synthesis, and the different ways you can use it.
