Try updating to the latest OS. I noticed what I think you're talking about with version 2.0.1 or 2.0.2 (can't remember). Haven't heard the problem with the latest version.

Try making your own brass programs. The 2 Trumpets and 2 Trombones samples (ROM bank Stereo) are great.

KRS 01 is the only one that has to be reloaded. KRS 04 is a bank of combinations, and those remain in memory until you overwrite them.

Find a looped cymbal sample. Use only the loop. Lower the amp and the lowpass filter cutoff, but use the joystick to increase both. Give it a long release time. Maybe add reverb. Maybe EQ some of the mids out. To execute the roll in real time, simply hold one key down and push the joystick forward ...

You can create a program like this on any Korg keyboard that supports user samples (Kronos, M3, Triton, etc.). Just assign an unused RAM multisample number to a single-oscillator program.

And for a 76, I would add 3 more to the bottom, giving it the same bottom A a real piano has, and then also the top key would still be a C as it "should" be. That's a great idea! That makes so much sense to me that I'm surprised it's not a common layout already. I rarely need the top octave, but I ...

I'd say the demos are either all accurate (likely, else why post them at all?) or all not accurate (not likely). If you don't trust the demos with a CX3, then also don't trust the good-sounding ones with the XK1.

When loading EXs, you can set for each Multisample/Drum Sample whether it is loaded into RAM or played via VMT Why would we ever want to play EXs from RAM? I would think we would want *everything* (sample-based) to be done with VMT so all available RAM could be free for our own custom samples or ...

From Korg's website: "Once again, our SSD and Virtual Memory Technology (VMT) gives the HD-1 access to a larger sample set – gigabytes in size – than could be normally stored using internal memory. The HD-1 covers all of the essential sounds in exquisite detail, from orchestral to classic rock to hip ...
