The new jomox M.Brane11 is the only thing I've seen so far that I find interesting. See the samples at the bottom:

It doesn't do effects processing from what I gather. It does have vocoding which is what the audio input is for. Loop storage looks VERY useful and that was one of the downsides of the original Kaossilator.
We'll have to wait to see it in action!
It also samples external audio. There are a lot of user-requested features in this, that KO1 users and forum opinion-makers asked for and suggested in a more pro version.

I liked my KP3 and still enjoy my KAOSSilator. I wish the new Pro had the effects processing as well. But that being said, it's certainly a VAST VAST VAST improvement over the original KAOSSilator. Very cool. Didn't see this one coming.

i'd guess by the lack of a new workstation being released, M3's production line still has some life in it. I'd be worried if Korg phased out their only two workstation models.

+ the M3 OS is pretty mature by now and already had a big overhaul.

of course some minor glitches could be addressed or some features added, but steady software update support is not a common thing in the hardware business and to be honest the only company i can think of at the moment who do this is Access with their Virus line.

of course there will be a successor but i think it will be next year earliest, and regardless of that i love my M3 the way it is and probably won´t feel the need to buy Korg´s (or anyones else´s) next top of the line workstation.
(i hope  )

Korg is pretty good about OS support. I think they *JUST* released an OS update for the Triton Extreme a few months ago. That's pretty awesome.

The M50 however is in dire need of a major OS update. There are a few significant bugs that have been reported for about a year than have yet to be addressed. I'm sure there's one coming for both the M3 and M50, just not sure when. I was really hoping for an M3 OS3 to be announced at NAMM. :(

Where did you find this update? I only find version 1.05 from 2004 on Korgs website.

So far, I like what I read about the Kaossilator Pro.

But, But, BUT, BUT!!!!!, when the hell is Korg going to update the Electribes? Letting the Tribes languish without update for so long is incomprehensible to me. Some managment heads need to roll. The time for words has past. It's Seppuku time. It's the only honorable way to save face at this point. Korg has committed the unforgivable act of surrendering the groovebox market to Roland without a fight. Shameful. Your families, friends, associates should disown you and consider you to be the walking dead, the Ronin living with the shame of a defeated master.

I shall light some incense for your lost souls and ring a gong on my R3 and Kaossilator so that your next life will reincarnate to avoid the error of killing the Electribes with neglect, and instead release a new generation with renewed vigor (with USB, SDHC Flash, Radias/R3 engine, and Kaosspad instead of ribbon). Bong. Bong. Bong.
