I thought so too, initially.
However after reading all of the specs page. It seems to mainly borrow its look from the KP3 - probably to save money on pointless chassis redesign. just like the Kaossilator and mini-KP (where the PCB even has markings for audio input, and the holes are there in the case too) I suspect most differences are in the ROM software on board.

It doesn't do effects processing from what I gather. It does have vocoding which is what the audio input is for. Loop storage looks VERY useful and that was one of the downsides of the original Kaossilator.
We'll have to wait to see it in action!
