midi out problem on new OS 2.0+2.1

Hi friends,I connect PA 800 through midi cable to my computer.I install OS 1.6 and i make no changes in Global setting but to set midi filter 1 out and in from sysex to off.I start playback my TEST.mid on sequencer 1 and I make record on Cubase SX 3. Record has all.Notes,control changes.PG changes and SYSEX!!!! I install OS 2.1 an i make no changes in Global setting but to set midi filter 1 out and in from sysex to off.I start playback my TEST.mid on sequencer 1 and I make record on Cubase SX 3.Record has notes,control changes,PG changes but NO SYSEX!!! ,,Fast play function'' was always off. Why Rob can record(not save) sysex data on computer and i can't??? Best regards. EX

A couple of things to try, please:

Under OS2.01 the Sysex messages are filtered using filter number 1 by default. You have to go to Global : MIDI and the Filters tab, then set all the filter parameters to Off. Then you have to use the drop down menu to Write Global - MIDI Setup.

Also assuming you are using Player1 to replay your MIDI file, then configure the MIDI parameters using the Global : MIDI and "Setup Gen.Ctl" tab, then choose the preset "Player1" and again use the drop down menu to Write Global - MIDI Setup.

Hi Rob ,thank you for your suggestions.I have now OS 2.1 on my keyboard. I set all midi filter on off and saved with ,,write global-midi setup'' I set in Setup gen.Ctl current Midi Setup on Sequencer 1 and saved again with ,,write global-midi setup. I start record on Cubase SX 3 and PA 800 playback on sequencer 1(player 1). It's always the same-NO SYSEX!!! I can set midi filters for recording on Cubase SX 3 too. I work with this program long long time and all midi setting in Cubase SX 3 for recording is set correct. Anyway I''ll try to download midi-ox 7. and i'll make some experiments. Best regards EX

Hi friends,MIDI-OX 7. is indeed very good program.It shows all midi in and out activity on your pc display.On Korg PA 800 i started player 1 on OS 2.1 and i see on pc display midi in activity in differential colours, all notes,control changes,PG changes but NO SYSEX DATA!!! I install OS 1.6 on Korg PA 800 and i started player with the same midi song.Yes!!!! I see all my SYSEX DATA!!!!!!!!!! big packets of all my SYSEX DATA. I love OS 1.6. without DNC and scores view.
