that's strange... I never heard phat and cold in the same phrase... anyway till now I've always thought that the Q series was one of the best VA out there to emulate analog synths. I would opt for the Virus instead. But Waldorf definitely makes better 'pad' oscillators for the pad sounds compared to Virus, but ofcourse Korg is the king of pads.
