Girlfriend bought me a surprise ... a Waldorf Blofeld !

Post by Daz »

How cool is that, eh ? Apparently she was one of the very first people to pre-order it here in the US, and I had no idea until now.

She asked me "Did I do well ?"

I was able to safely answer "Yes!" to that question :-)

How awesome is that ?

Daz.

It sounds like a MicroQ

Post by tritonlover2000 »

I played with the Blofield a friend had. It sounds a lot like the Micro Q: phat, harsh, metallic, cold. Only difference is the effects seem enhanced, so with some effects, you can get more warmth than you could get in the Micro-Q.

I would opt for the Virus instead. But Waldorf definitely makes better 'pad' oscillators for the pad sounds compared to Virus, but ofcourse Korg is the king of pads.

that's strange... I never heard phat and cold in the same phrase... anyway till now I've always thought that the Q series was one of the best VA out there to emulate analog synths. Maybe different point of view.
