I mainly use a plectrum for playing with my kaossilator. It gives nice and accurate control and it still gives you the feeling you're playing an instrument!

The only remark I can make is: start out with as little as gear as you can!!! I can't stress this enough! you will automatically run in to all sorts of things you want to do but can't. Then buy what you're missing and always try to get thing's done with what you have! A lot of people just go out and ...

Hi there, it depends on a couple of things, first: Do you have a condeser microphone or is it a dynamic microphone? If it is a dynamic one, you could simply plug it in your KP and connect that to your powerbook's line in. If you have a condeser microphone, you will have to plug it in a device that ...

I'm not sure but a think I have had a similar problem, it seems the KP3 only forwards a clock signal but no start/stop information. It's always looping anyway so why would it right? That cpould be the reason why your EMX isn't starting...

Maybe some KP3 expert could answer this? Maako?

The Mini KP modulates an incoming audio signal, so if that is a voice or a drum or a guitar, that doesn't matter. Some effects will have better results than others depending on the kind of material you rout through the effect. You will have to run your mic through a mixer or some sort of device ...

If your going to use a sample function, go with the KP2 since the Mini-KP can't sample and playback your music, it's purely an effect! Although it's about taste I find the effects in the Mini KP a lot nicer. If you can't decide, go to your local music store and try them out :) at least you can ...

Just make sure you know how many inputs you need on your mixer e.g. how many synth's you want to hook up + mic. Buy a mixer that size, enough audio inputs 8) Rout the mixer output through your KP3 or send the audio signals via aux to your KP3 and use another input on your mixer as return from your ...

That wouldn't have to be a problem... Try to hook everything up, one at a time. So first hook up your mixer and speakers, listen what happens. Repeat these steps untill you hear the noise. Then at least you know the source. Then try to connect the noise-source on a different socket or try a ...

Maybe not exactly an answer to your problem but just a good advice: Buy one of these small mixers (behringer anyone??) so you mix everything in there and rout that output to your KP3. That way you can set up all your levels in the mixer and you won't have to switch between inputs on you KP3. Be ...

Could it be a ground-loop?

Check your power cables, maybe the interfere with your audio cables. Try to seperate them as good as you can.

You can also try a different power socket, do you have a lot of equipment running on 1 socket?

Don't worry about that, the only thing that could happen is the destruction of your adaptor. If your device draws more mA than the adaptor can deliver, the adaptor will overheat and brake down.

You can't ever kill your KP or Kaossilator with a wrong mA only the adaptor!

Kaossilator

Ordered mine yesterday so I hope it will arrive soon. I was drewling on the korg website over some pictures, when I noticed a sort of break-away plastic ring on the front of the unit. Anybody has any idea what this is for? Pictures at http://www.korg.co.uk/products/dance_dj/kaossilator/kaossilator ...
