Thank you both for your replies. I think I found what I was looking for. I'm currently playing with free UVI Workstation 3 ( Windows or Mac) https://www.uvi.net/uvi-workstation.html
Looking pretty good so far.

Thank you again, -Craig

Software Sampler / Player

I'm so sorry, this is completely off topic but I don't have access to any other group of people as generally knowledgeable as the people on this forum. I have need of a simple and inexpensive piece of software that will allow me to set up multi-samples from wave files and play them from a MIDI ...

Expression Pedal Question

I apologize if this has been covered. I couldn't find it by searching. I'm using an expression pedal to bring in Kronos strings and other sounds on top of what I'm playing on other keyboards. The problem I'm having is that when I change sounds on the Kronos they come in at full volume until I move ...

Using Kronos with Mixcraft 8

Sorry if this is an overly simple question. I've been doing a lot of recording using Mixcraft 8, mostly audio ( some from the Kronos) and virtual instruments included with Mixcraft. I'd like to set up the Kronos to be used as a midi instrument but am not sure where to start. Can anyone point me to ...

SGX Pitchbend

I'm sure this has been covered but I couldn't find a definitive answer in the manual or the forum. Is pitchbend available in the SGX piano engine? If so, I can't find the option and none of the piano sounds I've checked out respond to pitch bend. Don't ask why I want to pitch bend a piano sound, I ...

Quick Combi Question re Switch 1

Hopefully a quick question. Something dumb I'm overlooking. I'm setting up a basic combi which includes piano and strings. It's a Kronos 61 so I have switch 1 set to drop the piano by an octave. I didn't want switch 1 to affect the strings so I unchecked "Enable Switch 1" for the strings in the MIDI ...

I bough the card for my S90 ES a few years ago and was disappointed with the pianos. I thought the PLG 150-DX was great however as I had a number of DX sounds I wanted to use and came with a bunch of good patches loaded

Slightly off topic. In the pre-midi days, I often had the handles from plastic silverware lying on certain keys of my string machine and at the appropriate time would press the key, sliding the plastic forward to wedge the key down. Required no additional pedals or fingers. A single sustained string ...

If you go to the excellent burningbush site, click on the blog archive, click on 2013, click on March, you will find a number of Farfisa and Vox sounds. Thanks to KaptainKeyboard for posting this link for a user looking for Wurlitzer sounds. The same bank contains the non-Hammond organs as well as ...

Very interesting piece of information. Good to know. Sounds a little more pressure sensitive than velocity sensitive but I guess there's no option on the Kronos or any other electric keyboard that I'm aware of for pushing the key only part way down. You learn something new every day. ( except last ...

Guitar Center really upset me a few years ago. They sent me a card that said "Take an additional 15% off any item". I was buying a Yamaha S90 ES that was on sale and planned to use the card for an additional discount. They showed me the fine print on the back that said not applicable with any other ...

Don't know about kids, but a couple years ago my cat, who like to walk on it and make sounds, was somehow able to change the keyboard mapping so that the high notes were on the left end and low ones on the right. Power cycle fixed it.

I was able to do some experimenting last night and found that Repeat Measure, Copy Measure, Delete Measure, etc worked as expected provided I entered the measure number information via the data slider or increment/decrement buttons. I was using the keyboard to provide the numbers and on my Kronos at ...
