I'm so sorry, this is completely off topic but I don't have access to any other group of people as generally knowledgeable as the people on this forum.
I have need of a simple and inexpensive piece of software that will allow me to set up multi-samples from wave files and play them from a MIDI keyboard. Don't need to be able to import sound fonts or anything like that. Can be Windows, IOS or Android.
Again, i apologize for being completely off topic and thank you for indulging me. -Craig

Not at all off topic, since the Kronos will allow this and, since you have a Kronos-61, it's effectively free. Read the section in the Kronos Operations Guide on Kronos' open sampling system, and also the sampling section in the Parameter Guide.
The Kronos can automatically time slice, to divide portions of a sample having distinct attack portions into separate rhythm instrument sounds. It has room for up to 4,000 multisamples or 16,000 samples. The samples can be further processed through Kronos effects. Sampled data can be automatically converted into an HD-1 Program and edited and played like any other Program, and even re-sampled. Multisamples can also be used in Wave Sequences, which was, of course, one of the key features of the Korg Wavestation.

Thank you both for your replies. I think I found what I was looking for. I'm currently playing with free UVI Workstation 3 ( Windows or Mac) https://www.uvi.net/uvi-workstation.html
Looking pretty good so far.
Thank you again, -Craig
