Just took one of my KP3s in to a korg dealer in town. Looks like they should be able to order a new screen and put it in.

to get the loops perfectly aligning you can use a sequencer to send a note on/off message to the KP3 and whatever to the EMX (never used one) via midi. Ie. a 16 beat sample on the KP3 could be told to trigger on 1 on the first bar and off at the end of bar 4. Then on again on 1 of bar 5, off at the ...

I really like the idea of using the banks->sample pads and using just one switch to control all the sampling. (It's cool the MPC has two switches, I use the other one for a OVERDUB+PLAY) I'll have to try your method. My problem might have been that my KP3 "track" on the MPC was a midi one (not "drum ...

But assuming you had just one mixer with a send/return loop: You can send just Ch1, just Ch2, or any mixture of the two. The KP3 will receive that mix, add its thang, and send that back to the Aux Return. The final output of the mixer can be any combo of Ch1, Ch2 and Aux Return. For total control ...

ishfaq, curious if you run the MPC/KP3 setup with any additional midi devices connected? Do you run into any problem when you do? Last time I tried out MPC/KP3/+synth I ran itno problems with the MPC's soft thru sending MIDI data to both the KP3 AND the synth.

Midi chain: Kaoss Pad midi out -> MPC1000 midi in MPC midi out -> Synth midi in Synth out -> MPC in Synth midi thru -> Alesis drum machine midi in ----- KP3 as tempo master. Mpc to record and sequence synth. MPC's pads used with a note-assigned program to control the drum machine. Makes sense yet?

Kaoss Pad as midi Tempo Master?

Once I start up a sample on my KP3, can I send out the midi clock to set my MPC1000 (hardware sequencer) tempo? And still retain my MPC as a master and sequencer for synth?

Ie. get the KP3 looping, then start a blank sequence on the mpc recording midi from a synth all at the KP3's tempo?
