Because according to Pa5X headphones max output voltage one 50 Ohms resistance headphone will sound louder that a 200 Ohms butMyKorgPa5x wrote:Why does Korg suggest "50 Ohms"?
it's not always true since expensive 200 Ohm headphones have better sensitivity and power loss (efficiency) so max volume will be the same.

Re: Headphones advice PA5X
hi I hope you sorted out your problem by now. My headphone output has always been substantially different from the L/R audio output to the mixer or amp if I plug the headphones into the mixer or an audio interface it is much closer but still different from the headphone output itself , so its not the headphones at fault , different effects noticeably reverb , balance and pan are all different like you I can only infrequently set the system up for full volume so most is done at lower volumes or on the headphones , maybe someone who knows these quirks can explain

Interesting...
Other than the noise isolation - I thought you wanted closed-back headphones for mixing, etc.
And you wanted open-back headphones while playing the instrument because of the more "open" spacious sound they give...?
Also, studio headphones sound "flat" - that is their "job".
Whereas Hi-hi headphones sound more "pleasing".
I guess it all depends on whether you are playing your instrument... or recording it...?

Hi all,
I am totally confused why people are still posting on this thread. The original poster asked for headphone information nearly two years ago and following several replies thanked everybody in February 2024. 20 months later, Members are still posting.
