Here is my opinion,
I saw the extensive presentation video of one hour length. I think that the 200 extra styles and the few new features are good additions for the yamaha community. It's not the update everyone would expect in my opinion, but it's not bad, it's just an upgraded version of the genos 1 with an extra FM synth engine for the DX7 sounds.
I've read the genos 2 manuals on the yamaha site. It found it shocking that they still use that old YEM program for the programming of the sounds, after 6 years I don't really understand why they don't upgrade that to nowadays standards.
Also it seems that the FM synth engine isn't really available for programming, no access to the operators and just the same basic synth editing as with the sample edits on the yamaha (the ADSR, a limited LFO and access to the Cutoff and Resonance). So it looks like you can only use the supplied presets and modify them on a basic level. Maybe they will add an editor in the future, but for now I couldn't find that info on the yamaha site or in the genos 2 manuals.
I miss the 16 pads matrix, it would be nice if they had added that functionality (It's one of my most used features on the pa5x, with the mute system).
I like the fact that they supply now an midi file to style editor (for free), it looks a little bit like cubase and the way cubase works (with the markers), but this time the CASM block is added automatically in that editor.
The new styles and sounds sound good, there is an large demo where they show a lot of the new styles. Most of them are song specific.
you can find that demo here:

when I compare the three new main features of the genos 2 to the pa5x I think that the pa5x can do this too (and much more),
1: the style dynamics fader can be done with the limiter tab on the styles on the pa5x
2: the new ambience drums feature of the genos can easily be replicated with the room reverb on the drum channel on the pa5x, this gives even more possibilities because with that pa5x room reverb you can design your complete room characteristics and change the ambience completely to your liking (it's a very powerful effect on the pa5x).
3: the new genos revelation reverb is good quality (I have it in Cubase) but in my opinion the Korg Overb is a better reverb.
For me there is no reason to upgrade the genos 1 in my studio, for me there isn't enough improvement to upgrade.
