Have you guys not played the RADIAS ?

If you want dirty & nasty, the RADIAS is a total slut.

It's even the girl next door if you want. Awsome sounding machine....!!!!

+1 to what Sharp said. As a Radias owner, I'm amazed at what this synth is capable of. I can get timbres on it that I can't on any other synthesizer. It's quite a chameleon too. If you guys have the EXB in your M3s, you really owe it to yourselves to go the next step and get the real deal, at least the module.

As for the MS-20, I always thought it sounded kind of tweasy and nasal. Having MS-20 filters in addition to the meaty to fluffy M3/OASYS filters, sure. In replacement? No way.

I have to agree. i've literally just come from a programming session on my radias where I'm trying to get some really dirty analog sounds out of it - and succeeded! those who judge it by its presets are sure to miss out.

I'll post up a demo of my analog set before I release it.

i won't say that RADIAS is "dirty & nasty, the RADIAS is a total slut"...
but maybe it is just a matter of personal taste

What don't you like about it ?

I find that I can create pure meet you can eat with it when I want, and up in your face nasty sounds. Then, pure sink ana strings, pads and so on.

It's very powerful.

i simply do not like (as in my R3) filters, to me they sound very digital, and also the overall sounds remains very clean and digital even when apply tons of fx... i agree with you that is a powerful synth (and in fact own an R3 and EXB-RADIAS), but i do not agree in considering it an aggressive synth...

For me this is the most exciting NAMM news.
I have DSI Tetra for a month now and I like the idea of expanding it with the Mopho keyboard.

I don't think he will come up with a Tetra keyboard soon. It is a good selling point of being able to sync the Mopho keyboard with a Tetra... I believe quite some people with a MK will be buying a Tetra some time after. Two units sold.

Every few months I get the GAS for an old PolySix or maybe an Andromeda (despite Alesis's poor support with it) then I go to the RADIAS and that GAS goes away almost instantly. It's not QUITE the same as having a true analog polysynth, but it's pretty damn close, much more reliable, and much more capable of doing other things.

+1 McHale. My Radias and EXB really supply most of my synthesis needs. I have a Virus and Ensoniq FIZMO which I love dearly too, but those Radias filters are simply stunning with the way they can shape sound in an amazingly analog way. I've gotten sounds on it which I'd heard on modified Moogs, Oberheims and Arp synthesizers from way back when, and it can get a lot of modular textures with ease.

I still want a Kurzweil PC3, but with my Korgs on hand, I find that need isn't quite as burning as I thought it would be.
