Hopes and Dreams

Post by RAYDAR »

The wave- seq on the M3 is amazing and it would be great if more patches were released , or roll out new electribes with 4 way joystick controllers and Wave-Seq , Mod 7 exp from the Oasys which i hope Korg won't forget,

Way too early, lol. Another two full months away yet (usually 15th Jan+). Let's get Christmas and NYE out of the way first (for those that celebrate them).

If previous keyboard generations are an indication (and they might not be), I don't expect Korg to release any more major updates for the M3. January will mark the 3rd anniversary of the M3, which usually means a new model isn't too far off.

That said, I hope the M3 sticks around a while longer. Its pricing and features are still very competitive in today's market. And I'm not done exploring the M3's potential yet... :)

PA PAIN

Post by RAYDAR »

Korg's new PA would only tease me if they added Random funtions to each part or why not add Karma 1  Country western Drum and Bass or Tango Dub

The M3 was designed for some major major updates. If sales are still going well, I'd imagine they will continue to sell them. 2 things lead me to think that this could be possible: 1. The economy sucks and developing new products takes time, people, and money. I'd imagine a workstation would be the costliest. 2. New M3's are coming out with the 1GB SD card as standard. That means that when they ran out of inventory, they made another UPDATED run. If they were to discontinue them, would they bother putting in the 1GB SD card at all?

When the M3 came out - a lot of people bought it.
When the Expanded update came out, a lot more people bought it. - This is where I jumped on the bandwagon.
Another large update could continue to push sales to those looking for a new workstation.

I'm hoping anyway... :)

I have one major hope for NAMM: a patch programmable Kaossilator with midi & usb.

A new Electribe would be very cool, and maybe a follow up to the R3.

Maybe Korg could buy out Ketron, finish the Audya, combine it with the M3 and Oasys and give me one to test for them.

Sina...

Why would KORG want to buy Ketron when their own arrangers are infinitely more advanced in every way imaginable.

The Audya was released long before it was ever finished because Ketron are in serious trouble, and it still doesn't have a Sequencer, Style Edit mode ( the main function of any arranger ), a Sampler or even a synth engine that's worth programming. It's still very much a beta keyboard even at this stage.

Stick a Pa2X inside an OASYS and you have perfection.

Sharp, to be honest I'm fed up with hearing all the yap about the Audya. I asked earlier in this thread about what might come down the pipe for pa2X and got what seemed to be a slightly fatuous answer. Do you have any thoughts about what might be happening on the arranger front?

Me too, but if it bothers you that much then don't read the threads that cover this topic.

I do, nothing at all will happen anytime soon. The pa2x is so far ahead of the competition in all its abilities that there is no point in releasing a new one right now during this recession.

KORG are working on the Pa3X sure, but since when have KORG pumped out keyboards one after the other to make a profit and milk the end users. The Pa3X will be out when the time is right and in my opinion you will have a long wait.

This years NAMM will likely be worst than Summer Namm and I don't expect anything at all in the way of top end keyboards.

Regards
Sharp
