You know, one of the things I don't like about most of today's synth makers is that they rely on EQ too much to make an instrument sound good, rather than make the synth engine big and sweet sounding to start with. And this is what I like about Kurzweil, is that you don't have to have EQ on every channel.

Sorry Sharp, I'm a big fan of VAST.

And as much as I've fallen in love with Korg since the mighty Triton, and will never sell any of my Korg gear ever again - need to get that Triton back when I get a few paychecks - I want that PC3. The M3 with an EXB-Radias is a monster, and gives me much of the power of a modular synth. But the Kurzweils go a fair step further in that regard.

I have a K2000R and could stick with that to give me my VAST fix, but waiting for a good deal on an OASYS, which is the only thing better, is kind of like trying to find an affordable Andromeda.

Sorry Sharp, I'm a big fan of VAST.
I didn't saying anything bad about VAST.
It's the specs and PCM data I find outdated.

Kind Regards
Sharp.

I'm not sure what you mean by the specs, but I agree that the three main ROMs are downright archaic. I commented on that in an M3 thread just a bit ago. Somehow though, it still manages to sound darn good...

M10--maybe, but with this current economy I don't expect a new Oasys.

If they did release a new Oasys it would be an epic fail .... !!!! for one reason only .... The way they dropped the old Oasys support, programs, expansions ... open source etc etc ...

people wont drop 5k+ again ...

As for M10 .... if there is such a model it would be a cut down M50 to replace the X50/MicroX

the replacement of an M3 ( If its a same engine upgrade) would either be M3Pro/Extreme/Studio or something like it or the M4, but to be honest i think they would give a NEW workstation a completely new name ...

just my thoughts ...
