Topic: Is It Normal For The ESX To Take 50 Years To Delete Samples?

try working backward through your samples and patterns as you delete them. working from the end seems to go faster because i think it takes all the remaining samples into account when deleting. saving samples has always seemed to be much quicker for me.

the emx is a synthesizer and the esx is a sampler. both have internal sequencers and the emx has drum sounds. with the esx you can use any sound you want.

sounds are often compressed multiple times before it even gets to the mastering phase (say, in a typical band recording environment). if your sound is heavy, it's probably what the mastering engineer thought it should sound like. not sure about the tubes, but i do know that they distort like hell if ...

yes there are a variety of sid options available and i'm not too familiar with them. you can build it using anywhere from 1 to 8 sid chips. a guy on there created the "MB-6582", which is a set of two pcbs. one for 8 sid chips (and associated parts), and another for the control surface. this seems to ...

the analog vs. digital debate is non-existent to me. i'm building analog gear, but own a v-synth xt and use a computer (love live and reaktor). it's all great. i'm not building an 808 and i really don't know much about them regarding the electronics. there is a system called "midibox" ( http://www ...

the perfect complement to the esx? (9090)

hi, i just wanted to post here about how i'm going to be using my esx in the future. i'm building a 9090 drum machine. it's a roland tr909 clone, minus the sequencer, but can be triggered via midi. i really like both synthetic and sampled drums and the way they can sound when layered together, so i ...

a solution to controlling the transport while drumming would be to use footswitches. there's a forum called midibox (www.midibox.org where people build various midi devices. you could build a small box with a few footswitches that enable/disable recording and start/stop play. just a thought.

looks good. where did you get the knobs? i'm building a 909 clone (to be sequenced from the emx!) and a compression/distortion/gate box and those knobs would go well with anything.
