EMX-1 vs ESX-1 ??

Post by DjDominic »

CAn someone explain the difference between these two units? I have the EMX-1 but was wondering what I could do on the ESX-1. Any info would be great! Thanks!

the emx is a synthesizer and the esx is a sampler. both have internal sequencers and the emx has drum sounds. with the esx you can use any sound you want.

It's good to note that the ESX-1 has 2 Keyboard parts and are both fairly limiting, but the EMX has up to 5 keyboard parts and you can run oscillators through them and they sound VERY, VERY good.

The ESX-1 can take a sample and stretch it into however many beats you want, which makes it very handy for sampling keyboard parts off an external source, and looping it seamlessly. (fairly seamlessly, there is some clip, but if you sample it at the tempo you want to use, it comes out very clear and still snugs it into your desired number of beats.

Also, you can not load samples into the EMX< but you can load samples into the ESX-1 via smart media cards. (An extinct brand of memory card I can only find on EBAY.)
