If you're just controlling the R3 with the KP3, then you only need KP3 MIDI Out to R3 MIDI In - don't make it complicated. you touch the pad on the KP3, it generates a message which is sent to the R3, the R3 does whatever that message tells it to do.. Kept it simple as you said and got them ...

Well I guess I didn't really need a tutorial since you answered the questions I had. Thanks for the great help, can't wait to get back to my R3 next weekend!

I looked a bit closer into controlling the R3 LFO frequency for the wobble bass, and it looks like changing the SyncNote directly via midi will be too difficult to do via a simple midi sequence. It would require retrieving the current program via Sysex commands, modifying that one parameter, and ...

So I wanted to setup the Kaoss Pad to control the LFO sync note because of its ability to select any part of the pad, skipping over the previous settings; thus switching between back and forth from 1/4 to 1/8 to 1/12, and making successful dub; making me dub-happy. :) xmlguy, you mentioned setting ...

Has anyone had any luck wiring a kaossilator to a launchpad or some sort of button layout? I'm very curious on doing a project like this. Anybody know how the pad makes contact with the EP? Also, how many notes across is the pad? I'm guessing its not just a standard button layout behind the pad & I ...

You don't really need to create such a thing. In the MIDI menu, you can assign just about all the parameters a MIDI CC number, so all you need is to hook it to something like the Behringer BCR2000. I actually use my Roland SH-201 for more knobs. Through the MIDI menu on the R3? I should cut myself ...

Electrical Diagram?

So I am thinking: what if one could create a board of knobs (POTs) wired with all of the sound editing parameters? Now I'm not talking about circuit bending, but it would be internally modifying the R3 board. Does anyone have an electrical diagram of any sort for the R3? I say this because then one ...

So with some research and reading the KP3's manual, I've found out that it can use the Kaoss Pad as a midi controller in this article . That suggests to set it up through Logic, as the KP3 transmits all the same midi data through a usb cable as a midi cable. Does the R3 also do this? After much ...

m_player, midi controllers aren't expensive. You just need to get one that's easy to program. And speaking of easy to program, the best way to program midi controllers and the R3 is using software editors. You can download the latest version of the R3 editor librarian software from Korg's website ...

You're welcome and thanks for your comments! LFO1 is configured to sync to the BPM, therefore the knobs cannot be assigned to change the LFO frequency directly. Changing the tempo knob will change the BPM, and you'll see the LED show the beat pulses. You can play different notes on the keyboard ...

Hey community members, I just installed the sound editor for the first time and wow have I been missing out! This is a great patch, thanks for the upload! Yet, how can I change the second knob to control the LFO1 frequency? Why is it assigned to LFO2 if it is not creating/controlling the wobble ...

Buy a soundcard. Also stompboxes turn on with a cable plugged into the output. It doesn't need to be "hot." Can you suggest anything of quality under $50 that would suffice for an external soundcard for my Macbook? The external driver featured in this thread is a $150 card...not quite in my price ...

I'm not one to double-post, but this post more or less concludes my last post. Let me know if I was too complex in explaining the above, because I can easily edit the fluff out. My issue revolves around using guitar products, which utilize all mono 1/4" cables and devices. There are stereo 1/4 ...

Awesome! That is great news. The only thing I just realized is that this completely debunks my guitar pedals for use as effects... Mainly just my Boss loop is useless in the process now. I can still use my 90s delay pedal since it has stereo input/output. What was really annoying, was the fact that ...
