distorted sound output

Unit performed fine with OS2. When updated to OS3 it outputs distorted sound. All sets&samples of HD re-saved with new extension according to OS3 instructions. What now? Downgrade to OS2?

Reseating HDD ribbon and refitting all cables in main board cured symptoms of no HDD mount & slow booting. One symptom prevails though; the status parameters ( INT-OFF-EXT-EX2 ) of the 8 programs of a combi selection cannot be changed. Reset cures this as well but only as long as power is on. Upon ...

'Now writing into internal memory'

Performed upgrade to version 2.53, no reboot afterwards & displays above message permanently, even after restart. Initial problem: hang up,

floppy replacement

It's pretty straightforward. Remove bottom cover and observe location & connections of floppy. Disconnect cables and remove floppy. Do the opposite procedure and mount new one.

Slow booting, no HDD mount, unavailable menu commands.

Intermittent fault of 'very slow' loading sequence, HDD not mounted afterwards & many menu options unavailable. Shut down & restart may recover system to full functionality. It works ok for some time until fault reappears.
Any suggestions?

'unformatted' floppy message

discs not recognized, not even OS discs. FDD works as it can save files to disc and perform format. If disc formatted by keyboard, recognized ok but not from pc. As a result no files can be uploaded. Reset performed, no cure.
