Slow booting, no HDD mount, unavailable menu commands.

Post by mikelepap »

Intermittent fault of 'very slow' loading sequence, HDD not mounted afterwards & many menu options unavailable. Shut down & restart may recover system to full functionality. It works ok for some time until fault reappears.
Any suggestions?

just like this guy, you have a faulty triton..my studio freezes-up in disk mode.
it does not read floppy nor can it write on floppy tried to format the floppy & i
get an error message....

im in love with this board got it at a bargain price, has a faster response than
my classic...but, with these bug issues i dunno if i can stomach keeping it.. :(

Reseating HDD ribbon and refitting all cables in main board cured symptoms of no HDD mount & slow booting. One symptom prevails though; the status parameters ( INT-OFF-EXT-EX2 ) of the 8 programs of a combi selection cannot be changed. Reset cures this as well but only as long as power is on. Upon reboot, it comes about again.

Inability to change parameters is often a sustain pedal related issue. Make sure your polarity is set to KORG(+) standard in Global mode if it is unplugged, or the polarity is set correctly for your pedal.

yup. i found out the samething after i open mine up, these laser ribbons are not securely fasten
to the disk drives & other components inside the board when they become loose or undone they
cause the keyboard to freeze or act sporadically...mine no longer freeze after i use zip cable ties
to hold the ribbons in place..

however,

i still have a remaining problem [like you] where when im using the modulating lever the unit sends
out a pitch bending message which make it sound like im playing bum notes it's very annoying.. :x
