well, now that you mention it, I WAS looking for better piano sounds and better elec guitars!! I'll do my best to get my hands on this baby!! thanx! The piano sounds (and the RH3 keybed) are one of the main reasons I went for my 1st Korg since the M1. There are a lot of them, they are varied and ...

I still don't see how the playing style or playing "cleaner" should ever cause a note to continue sounding when not being played (beyond its normal sustain) - unless the sample is faulty or badly programmed or a "key off" is not being received/sent. I've certainly not seen this on any other ...

Personally, I would be returning it for a competitors product not to buy another M50. This is the first Korg I've bought since the M1 and I've had many keyboards in between. None of the Rolands, Yamahas or Nords I've had in the meantime have had such a serious fault as a note sticking completely in ...

I know 3 other locals and had them run the test using C053 and other progs and sure enough, same issue. On another note, they have all had their M50's longer than I and NONE of them have had a hanging note just as I haven't. Korg will reply when they have something to say and when they've narrowed ...

I'm in agreement with you. It's one of the most confusing manuals I've ever read. If I have a question I go to that topic in the manual, read what to do, and still not have a clue as to what to do. The 4 knobs on the top left of the board I haven't got a clue what they are even for. There's buttons ...

Hi. When I looked at getting a Korg M50 I was distraught to see that there are no favorites buttons or users banks for saving and organizing programs/combis. If this is true then how would you use this keyboard in a live band setting where you need to change sounds quickly? Thanks. No need to be ...

how about the body of M 50. It is less weighted. What is the differents in tone between TR and m 50. what is the Advantage if M 50.? Can we play TR songs in M 50? Many threads man ;) Check the specs on the korg site, see some past threads discussing Tr vs M50, and, more important, go to the shop ...

Yo FE- Thanks for that. Any thoughts on the foot switch? Should I forget the Roland foot switch and get a Korg PS-1? - Dave Dave, You appear to be using the correct jack. Not every pedal is compatible with all manufacturers. It used to be a general split between Roland and Yamaha. I've not had a ...

Re: New M50, New User, New Install - Help!!

My M50 arrived yesterday. I got it physically set up. Today I proceeded to instal the USB MIDI driver and the M50 editor. The M50 installer provides the option to install a VST plug-in and a RTAS plug-in. How do I determine which one I need? Are the plug-ins for use with a DAW? If so I don't have a ...

I certainly have a note hanging problem but it's infrequent and not a show stopper and maybe it can easily be sorted with a firmware upgrade. I put it down to the general lack of quality control these days from all manufacturers and the "made in China" syndrome. You only need to install the latest ...

Of course you won't be able to use your best organ techniques on a weighted 88 - you need a semi-weighted waterfall keybed for that (Nord Electro, Roland VK etc.) The Korg RH3 is a good compromise though if you want to play mostly piano. I kid you not, when I played it, I absolutely fell in love ...

Re: M50 findings

I'm currently playing in a blues band and am looking for a board to complement my Roland VK-8. Right now the 2 choices in the $1000 ballpark are the Korg M50 (new) and the Nord Electro (used). I don't like the Electro's pushbutton drawbars, but since I'm mainly wanting a board for electric pianos ...

I spent 2 hours between the 88 key M3, the 88 key M50, and the 61 key M50. Observations: The keyboard action between the M3 and M50 were identical (and they better be since they are the same keybed). And yes, they are the best weighted action keybeds I've played. The M50-61 keybed DOES feel ...
