I'm poor so my list will be realistic:

1. Monotribe - will hack it

2. Another Monotron (my last one caught fire after heavy mods =_= )

3. Doepfer DIY synth PCB

4. Razor

5. A DIY midi controller kit (can't be bothered learning Arduino)

6. Some cheap 80s keyboards to mutilate.

I use samples from this site quite a bit: http://machines.hyperreal.org/samples.html The 909 kit from that website probably has the best kicks, but I think they need a bit of compression and eq twiddling to make them decent. Doubling up can work too. The other way I get drums is by taking presets ...

LEGS. Here's a no girl band! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTXO7KGHtjI (The vocaloid software that does her voice is coming out as an app this year too) Was that filmed live? If so, that projection technology is far out. If not, then the whole thing was staged and not as cool. Yeah man that's all ...

Re: MIDI mods

Then, the folks at MuffWiggler discovered in this thread: http://muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39099&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 that the onboard CPU is actually set up to send and receive MIDI signals out of the box, and all you need to do is wire up the actual MIDI connectors.

You should start learning very slowly and get everything completely right otherwise you run the risk of making bad habits and cocking it up when you do get up to speed. Learn in sections and look for repetition. Mistakes can take a lot longer to straighten out than learning the song in the first ...

What about a DIY passive analog mixer with no EQ? I looked up a few schematics online and it seems to be a fairly simple and cheap job. I tend to use the EQ on my KP3 as a hard and fast solution (not ideal yeah) and I never tend to have more than 3 sound sources at once. I mainly just want something ...

I never really paid attention to the Evolver, but I just saw a bit of it on youtube and it sure is nice.

I think you should listen to what XML and Dan 303 are saying: software. Flexible, cheap, and well help you find out what you actually want instead of you going out and spending thousands on stuff you soon realize you hate. Spend 6 months with Ableton and some free softsynths/samples and you'll know ...

I've had fun with a Mopho before but yeah I'm not sure if you can compare it to the Pro One or the Multimoog. But why buy a Pro One for its sequencer? You could sequence your Multimoog with an external sequencer more customizable than the one built into the Pro One, or if you're already using a ...

Cool job punpkomg.

There were some guys who made an album just out of cosmetic surgery sound samples (saws, drills...splatter?) which actually sounded pretty cool, despite the disturbing source material.

Totally. I think you'll have to change the pots though. The pots Korg tends to use these small PCB mounted ones to save space, so it'll probably be more convenient if the first thing you do is replace the pots with larger ones which you can screw into the surface of your DJ controller like these ...

Have a look at this: http://highlyliquid.com/midi-controllers/midi-cpu/ Though if I were making a MIDI controller from scratch I would go for an arduino microcontroller with a MIDI shield attachment since it'd be cheaper and more flexible. IMO unless you have something very definite, unique and ...

Whats cool?

What are you listening to these days? What tracks have motivated you lately to go and crank up your Korg whatchamacallit and make something? These forums seem to be a lot about making but not much about listening, and since both are equally important, lets even up the score a bit. Me first: http ...
