correct me if Im wrong, but does not Yamaha have software programs for PC that will facilitate editings and style making. The Tyros 4 has an onboard style editor, but this feature has been removed from the Tyros 5. Yamaha has promised to release an editor for PC in the future, but for now it's ...

Bachus, on your Kronos you can load huge libraries of strings, brass, and whatever other sounds you might like. Some of them load directly (like the Akai), others (like Gigasampler) require a conversion to SF2 and for this you will need a program like Translator or Extreme Sample Converter. The cool ...

for me the Kronos is more then enough challenge for the years to come, my main goal is to add a single instrument to it that adds good sounds, styles and solo sounds straight OOTB. Currently own an Audya 4, and while the styles are great, the solo voices just feel to dated to me, and i barely use ...

Thank you for your replies; my samples were indeed created on the PA2X, so maybe this is the cause of the problem. Pity...

Questions about compressing samples on the PA3X

Hi all, about two months ago I have purchased a PA3X-76 and, after installing the optional 128 Mb of RAM and filling the memory with the samples from my old PA2X, was intrigued by the possibility of compressing the samples themselves, thus doubling the capacity of the RAM up to 512 Mb. So last week ...

Hi, let me chip in. I have recently upgraded from a PA2X-Pro to a PA3X-Pro (76 keys), following also the advice from Karmathanever, and I am really glad that I did! The first thing I noticed is that the keybed is much improved and has a fantastic feel, very smooth. I rate it the best 76 notes keybed ...

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I think that the PA-900 sounds better than the PA2X and the proper comparison should be with the PA3X. The ROM has almost all the new sounds of the latter and the styles are better and with four fills. The only thing that I would miss from the PA2X are the 76 keys and ...

MaxxAudio in Kronos?

Hi all, I am about to replace my PA2X-Pro with a PA3X-Pro, but first would like to conduct an experiment. I know that I can route the PA2X outs into the Kronos audio ins and thus use the Kronos like a sophisticated effect section, so I wonder: which is the best effects combination in the Kronos to ...

+ 1 for the Casio PX-5S. Besides being shallow (and thus fitting perfectly below a Kronos 61) it has beautiful sounds of its own (that you can layer with the Kronos), a wonderful action, a light weight and a price lower than many "mute" master keyboards. I'm in love with mine. ...Ah! Almost forgot ...

The PA-900 has many advantages: 1- Better, more modern styles with four fills per style (vs two fills only in the PA2X) 2- 128 notes of polyphony vs 120 3- More DNC sounds 4- Much less weight to carry around (almost 50% less) What's missing (like the separate outs, the XLR in, the digital in/out ...

Hi, I have a Pa2X-Pro and was considering the move to the Pa3X-Pro, but I know already that would have to reprogram both my songbook and my performances, because between the two keyboards there is not a correspondency in sounds and styles locations. If you look at the sounds and styles lists (found ...
