Mini Kaoss Pad 2 - looping
I was wondering is there a chance to make your own imported audio loop like the sample loops that are with the device? It seems own imported audio can only be played once, which is a slowdown...?

The Mini Kaoss Pad 2S "S for sampler" does enable looping. You can play samples in "one shot", "looping" or gated? mode where the sample plays only while the button is down.
I'm curious if the firmware on this unit would be possible to load into the Mini Kaoss Pad 2 and get the same feature on the earlier model.
It's funny the amount of information about the 2S is minimal - If the difference between the two units is JUST this feature then why is it so much more expensive?

^Indeed. I came here after searching nearly all of google and failing to find any detailed information on the new device.
I suppose the difference in value could be explained by the original being a few years older... even though the 2s appears to be the exact same thing! (aside from the added Sampling Feature).
I possess no facts but I'm hoping there are at least some minimal changes like a couple new patches, slightly increased battery life, increased performance/sound quality, upgraded parts(the mic...) anything new but it doesn't seem likely.
All I see is a new outer shell part. -So the question is: Is the new sampler feature worth paying over double?
The only way I can justify buying one is if they addressed the durability and volume issues etc of the device. The sampler is cool though I guess. I'm just waiting for some people to report in...

I was hoping to be able to loop samples too.
It seems really cheeky to release a whole new model at twice the price for this one small SOFTWARE feature.
They could have made this feature available to the MKP2 with a simple firmware update
Combine this with the dodgy snare on the Volca Beats caused by production issues, I'm not impressed with Korg
