Wavestation standalone: no System menu, or I'm being thick

Post by zyng »

Today I started up Wavestation standalone, and for some unknown reason it forgot it was licensed. Went through that rigamarole, and it's up, but there's no sound, even from its internal keyboard. The VST version works in Studio One.

I suspect it also forgot about my audio interface (maybe MIDI too, but first things first). The setup manual says
From the System menu, choose “Preference.”
The Preference dialog box “Audio Device” will appear. If “MIDI Setting” appears,
click the “Audio Device” tab.
I can't find the System menu at all. If I'm remembering right, it appeared automatically when I first installed it, as the manual says it will, but I don't see where to invoke it myself.

Logic says it would be on the Global page, but I don't see it, there or anywhere else. There are File and Preview buttons on the right in the same horizontal band as Select/Edit/Global, and various settings fields, but no System menu or button.

This is Windows 7, and on Windows what's usually referred to as the system menu is the one in the upper left of the title bar, but as expected it has only Windows system stuff (Move, Minimize, Close).

So, help! Where is the dang thing? Do I have to uninstall it just to tell it about my audio interface? That'd suck, since I have two that I use regularly.

Thanks in advance for any wisdom.
