The image looks very much shopped...but there was already talk of another Volca unit coming (Volca Pro).

I strongly doubt Korg would name such a machine the "909".
This is most likely a hoax.

It must definitely is. But I started this thread so we can post any updates about a potential new volca unit.

Shopped for sure, the graphics are bitty. Furthermore, Korg would never nod toward a different manufacturer (it would come across as bowing down) or use 909 in a product name for legal reasons, it's purely Roland's baby.

I dont know why Korg never stopped wasting time and money on producing
such toys as Volcas, Micros and some other stupid things.

This has been discussed at length by others, but it would seem Korg does these things to test the waters and what not. Think of the monotron, and then the monotribe, and then the ms20mini. But at this point, I think its already a given that people want analog gear, and definitely things that are a step up from the monotrons and volcas. Really hoping that a better analog synth will be showcased at NAMM, something like the Volcas but much better.

The only logical reason must be the fact that they make money with these products.

What we could really do with is something completely new, not a reissue or a filter part from some bygone but a new innovative analog from Korg.

Yes i understand that fact that they make money and stuff but what about
people who actually take music Seriously and not with toys?
Someone would really honestly tell me that Monotron or Volka or Polka or Molka
would be something SERIOUS about music?
I know one can make music with Pro Tools and another with Fruity Loops but
come on, lets get real.

It's an addition to your sonic arsenal, another string to your bow. And a different way of working (jamming in realtime). They would be excellent for sampling.

From the linked article ...

They sound pretty good. Nobody is pretending they can make an entire album on just the Volcas, but they're pretty inspiring to actually play.
Apart from sampling and creativity from the workflow, they are excellent in a live environment.
