Just to show that other keyboards do sometimes have problems.
My lovely new MP10 has started making a noise on the second to top A key.
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/kBc8FsgkZQ ... detailpage" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Where my experience differs to that of my first two Kronos is this happened yesterday, I emailed the video to a guy at Kawai to see what he thought, at the same time I emailed the video to the piano shop I bought it from.
15 mins later the piano shop phoned me up, said that the noise was totally unacceptable, they've spoken to Kawai and a brand new MP10 will be here Monday, so I get to use my MP10 all weekend and simply swap them over.
As I've always said (and I suspect some of you are sick of me saying) its not that problems occur, its how they are dealt with when they do.
So I contact them Friday, the following working day a replacement is here. No having to send my kawai away or be without ot for a week or two, a simple solution that makes me very happy.

I can't play your video because where I am right now, internet access is borderline useless. Sorry to hear your new KAWAI has to be replaced. Darn good of them to do so though. That's excellent support for sure and a quick move.

Ojustaboo, there is a little difference. Kawaii hasn't had a zillion(Translated by Korg as a small amount) boards with keybed , fan and other problems being returned. The problems with the kronos must have Korg bleeding money for repairs. Its got to be harder for them to deal with the problems with Kronos, and to some extent, Kronos X.
Kawaii did good by you. That always comes back to the manufacturer in a good way. Happy keyboarding.

I've seen some numbers on returns, and they are indeed small. That does not contradict any individual user's experience, however.summers2 wrote:Ojustaboo, there is a little difference. I love my Kronos, and I realize my evidence is still anecdotal, but every single Kronos but one that I know of has had some measure of trouble over here. Two friends who bought a 61 had issues, my 88 had issues, another 61 I borrowed had issues, Michel had an issue with his 61. Only one guy I know hasn't had any (yet). Unless Qui has been completely problem free and to be fair I've only met him once and know him mostly from online.
All the issues are keyboard related by the way, and in my case and two of the friends, took more than one servicing (or replacement) to get fixed, not to mention ridiculously slow response time by the service center (in my case an epic 8 months).
Just saying because it makes me wonder how accurate the return numbers are.

I know/have been in contact with 15 Kronos owners in California. There was 1 issue which may have been user related.SanderXpander wrote:I love my Kronos, and I realize my evidence is still anecdotal, but every single Kronos but one that I know of has had some measure of trouble over here. 15 in California?!!! Seriously, is the numbers that high?.....I've been watching the forum for awhile now and I keep telling myself that these issues are not common but it's starting to make me nervous having invested close to $3000 in one of these....I plan on holding on to it for 5 to maybe 8 years but if it has to go to the shop especially more than once over that time, my confidence in Korg is going to severely deteriorate......My friend loves mine and is talking about getting one of his own....I've heard enough stories now that I'm going to have to warn him about the failings people are having because I feel it is a legitimate problem....It's too bad because I normally take bad product reviews with a grain of salt but between faulty boards and especially the wait time getting the boards fixed, I'm going to have to tell him it may not be a good investment...As for mine, I already bit the bullet so we will see how it works out for me in the future....Rest assured if mine goes down, I'll be here to let you know how my ordeal went.....It's too bad these quality issues are happening because otherwise, I LOVE my Kronos experience when I set down to it....moon

What will you do with it after the 5 to 8 years? ... You yourself are going to warn people against it. By then no one will want to take it off your hands for any decent price.MoonMusic wrote:15 in California?!!! Its really a shame the reputation that the Kronos is getting. Then again, its a shame that Korg let it happen. Korg really needs to bring back OASYS and M3 build quality.
Oh....Sorry, I misunderstood.....I find it frustrating to not know if this is something blown out of proportion or a legit problem....You better believe I would warn my friend not to get a product if I know it has a real issue whether I own one or not.....He's looking to me for good advice and I'm not going to sell him on something that I know is going to give him trouble down the road....He's already sold on the sound and the Karma functions but he doesn't research on the internet a lot so I know for certain he hasn't heard of the problems some people have had....I feel as a GOOD friend, I should point this out but I also don't want to blow things out of proportion....I would just like to understand to what point this is an issue....I can tell you mine has been just fine but I've only had for a few months.....moon
