Electro Bass thing

Post by 3DOFan »

I've been hearing two sorts of basses a lot lately, one is sort of glitchy sounding and stuttery, not sure what's making it have the movement in the sound,

and the other is sort of typical and kinda moogy

I'm curious how one would recreate this with either the korg r3 or microkorg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_w6YaVJWEQ

starts at 1:38

the other one:

(practically the whole song)

I've created basses like this before using analog synths, but normally on accident.

But have yet to succeed with the Korg R3 or Microkorg for some reason.

Also, this is unrelated, but I found some guy who made skrillex growls with a microkorg, this guy used it here: http://youtu.be/LTAdVV3ZMV8

he made the whole remix using only a microkorg

I'm not gonna tell you how to make dubstep, but I will tell you that the mod options for the normal analog waveforms (Cross, VPM, OSC2's Ring/Sync, etc.) along with the waveshaper and EQ will give your sound a lot more power.
