SV-1 Damper Pedal

Post by stale »

Has anyone had any success using a different damper pedal with their SV-1? I do not like the included one and am curious if anyone has replaced it and what worked best.

Haven't used a different damper pedal yet but I am also curious about the answer!!! Apparently there are things you can do with the editor/librarian to tweak the settings, but I have not experimented yet. :D :D :D

I am using a Yamaha footswitch, and also a Yamaha footpedal. They both work fine. It is necessary to calibrate the pedals and this procedure is described in the manual. :)

I've always loved roland damper pedals and bought one to use on the SV-1. Unfortunately the half damper function doesn't work even though the roland one supports it. :( I'm back to using the one that came with the sv-1.

I tried the Korg DSH-1, it kept sustaining after I let off the pedal. I tried calibrating several times, but no luck. I do not want to buy another pedal until I know one works correctly with it. I do not like the original one, it is too light and moves around more than I like. I just want to find an alternative in case this one breaks.

if the half damper isn't an issue for you, the roland model is very heavy, made well and has the swing out rubber foot pad that helps it stay put even better!

it's the Roland DP-10 model. Sadly it says it's supposed to be half damper compatible but the Korg doesn't seem to recognize it.
