Pa2x programme change issues on Cubase VST 4.0

Post by melcart »

Hi, I record PA2x accompanyments into Cubase VST 4.0. On playback the right sounds are not triggered and all midi tracks default to same piano sound except track 10 which is set up as rhythm track. No sure if this is a problem with the midi out filter settings for programme change on Pa2x or something on Cubase. Hope I don't have to manually set up programme changes on each cubase track for every song!

I have also noted that all tracks initally are compressed onto the one track highlighted when recording. There doesn't seem to be a multi track recording mode in midi section. It is however possible to unpack the tracks thereafter.

Any help would be appreciated.

In the midi menu of french Cubase SX, it's called "dissoudre". It could be "Explode container" or "dissolve" in US version.

But at first, you've better to use the "backing sequence" mode of the PA2X, save the resulting midifile and load it in cubase. It's the only way to keep all the controllers used by the PA2X to replay the midifile correctly. And if at last the midifile has to be played by the PA2X, the best is to reload the modified midifile in the PA2X. Sysex are not sent or received by PA2X.
