noob question: edited programs on combi

Post by mansize »

so i just bought an m50-73 and have been toying around with it for a few days

i edited a program and stored it on the free E bank, added effects, changed the name and all that

but then , when i want to use it in a combi setup it doesnt sound like i left it after editing, it sounds the way it used to sound before i made any changes to the program

anybody knows how to fix this?

When you put a program into a combi, the effects and other 'global' resource things like arpeggiators are not copied over by default.

The 5 IFX, 2 MFX, and 1 TFX that you see for editing represents the full FX processing power of the M50 whether in Program, Combi, or Song mode. So if your combi already uses some FX and you've used all FX slots on your edited program, you'll have to do some picking and choosing - perhaps use the same reverb or delay or chorus for multiple timbres using MFX , take out the subtle ensemble, or only use one distortion instead of two, for example.

You can also take the opportunity to change your sound to fit in with the combi in question - distortion might be too heavy for this particular combi, or you'd like to use a phaser instead of flanger, etc.
