hi all, i've recently been thinking about the way i amplify my kurzweil pc3 and nord electro 3 (yeah no korgs atm but i still like this forum). i currently amplify my keyboards through a peavey kb5 which i'm happy with when i'm jamming in a band setting but the thought has come up that i'm not getting the most out of my gear when im at home. is it worth it to spend up to $1000 on some studio monitors for home use only? i'm a little unsure because for the same money i could sell my amp and buy a nice pa system, or continue collecting synths (in the market for a real analog)
I suggest that you sell the amp and get a pair of quality PA speakers that work at home and for gigs, like the QSC K12. The difference in sound quality is astounding.

but those speakers are about $1200 each aren't they? i was thinking if i would go the pa route i would probably get a yamaha powered mixer and 2 yamaha a12's or maybe a15's. any thoughts?
thanks

I did this ... my room is untreated (i.e. it's also my computer room, some book cases, lots of junk etc in it) and my KRK (Rokit 5) are a lot better than a 'normal hifi stereo set'. I think it's good enough (considering the money). But I don't master music with it.

Naw, the K12 is under $700 if you wait for a sale. Even one K12 will blow your mind compared to any stinkin keyboard amp.
