Just got my Wavedrum, and love it. I especially enjoy Patch #61. When I go to that Patch, there's a looped sustained synthesized note. How do I get rid of it?
It's not assigned to the pad or rim. It starts as soon as I go to patch 61.
Thanks.

61 is the D&B Synth, the head algo is #4 the Head instrument is 11 the rim algo is 23 and the rim instrument is 85. I assume you are referring to the head sound. From the description of that algo I don't think you can get rid of it. One of the parameters is hd2/rm2 Resonance but if I am reading it right it is already set at 0. The description says if you turn it up it will produce a continuos oscillating tone. I would try adjusting the parameters one at a time and see how they change the tone, I think you might find you just need to select a different algo instead of 4. With 36 different algo's you probably will find something that works. But you really need to attack the #4 parameters first to see just how each affects the tone if that doesn't work then it's time to move on. Wavedrummer will know a lot more about it then I do. I'm just guessing based on what the manual says. I'm going to go play with it now to see how I can change it.
edit to add, things didn't work as I thought. I couldn't make it go away. About your only option is to get the tone you are looking for in your head and pick a new algorithm and start from there. I was looking at the double sized algorithms and I think it was 33 might get you in the ball park. i didn't try to tweak any of it's parameters I just replaced#4 with it, it would need more tweaking.

Re: Editing
Do you mean that it starts, without you hitting or applying pressure to the Wavedrum? Does it produce that tone automatically?stevesmithfan wrote:It starts as soon as I go to patch 61.

Something is definitely not right there.stevesmithfan wrote:Yes it starts automatically without striking any surface on the Wavedrum.
First thing I would do is reset the factory default settings as described in the user manual (pg 28-30). You might also follow the recalibration suggestions on the adjoining page.

The only thing I heard of ever causing problems with the sensors is if any objects are left to rest on the Wavedrum for extended periods--although I'm not sure that's what's going on here. Try both things just to be sure.
If the problem continues, contact Korg directly. What you have described is unusual.
