Post by Lee »

Anyone got these yet & tried them out?
I tried to get Korg USA on the phone to see how I get them Friday...but no one was there.

Thanks for the heads up Lee. If I were into Mexican music I would give them a go :)

Wonder why Korg chose Mexican??

Oh well, there are plenty of "western" music styles I guess. 'Bout time another genre got a go :)

These are not Mexican styles though. They're for Latin music.

Cool, thanks for the clarification Sam. I said Mexican because that's what Korg listed them as. I must admit I did not download them and try them.

I think you've looked at the wrong page then. Because this is what's posted about this product:

"USB-01 - Latin & Latin Dance USB Memory Stick
Contains samples from various Latin percussive instruments, 18 Drum Kits and 32 new Latin styles."

And it goes on:
"KORG releases the "Latin & Latin Dance" USB Memory Stick for the Korg Pa2X and Pa800 Professional Arrangers.

This stick contains new Sounds, Drum Kits, Samples and Styles, coming to light thanks to the joint efforts made by Korg and Evento Suono. “Latin & Latin Dance” combines live-played Latin Percussion Grooves with 32 Styles. Furthermore, it contains 18 so-called "Master Drum Kits", each one made up of audio grooves and fills, that you can consider as self-contained groove construction kits with a specific theme."... So nothing is mentioned about Mexican styles here. I'm sure they have one style in there that you could use to play mariachi music with..but the rest will cover the most famous Latin genres such as Salsa..etc which are also popular all over the world.

Sam yes I was looking at this page http://korgpa.com/pa_root/en/extra/bonusware.html?en

After Styles pack 15, is listed the Mexican Styles. These were what I was referring to. So my bad.

I thought those latin styles ONLY came with the board itself. :)

It's not something new. It was first released for Pa1x!!

KORG does not make any progress at all!! This must be released for free for all Pa2x/800 owners!!!

Dimitris

I've re-uploaded some Latin and BigBand/Jazz styles for my friends on the Forum. For those that might have missed them first time round.
