need advice, guys/gals

Hey, I am seriously looking to keep my Triton and, since I still want better guitar sounds, am looking at getting the Yamaha Motif, but the RACK version to save $$$. I do not own any rackmount synths. I do not use a computer to record, only the Triton sequencer.

So,

What are the pros/cons of getting a rackmount synth as opposed to getting the 61 key synth? Will I be able to access all sounds? Will the Triton sequencer be able to do effects on the Motif sounds? If there are any "catches" please advise me now, so I won't be surprised $800 in the hole...thanks...
